President Donald Trump abruptly announced late Saturday that he is rescinding the nomination of billionaire Jared Isaacman to lead NASA.
In a social media post, Trump stated he was withdrawing the nomination after a "thorough review of prior associations."
Isaacman, the 42-year-old founder of Shift4, has worked closely with Musk's SpaceX for private space missions.
The move comes shortly after Elon Musk, a Trump campaign donor, announced his departure from his role as head of the Department of Government Efficiency. Musk expressed his disappointment with the decision to withdraw Isaacman's nomination, describing him as a rare, competent, and good-hearted individual.
